bbkRC Reference Manual Make a New Meeting
Making a New Meeting
You can choose to make a new meeting for each meeting you run, or you can “re use” the same meeting over again.  You might choose to use the same meeting for your regular club meetings and make a New Meeting for Special meetings.  If you are going to publish HTML for a meeting, it is advisable to make a new meeting for each of your meetings, so bbkRC can maintain an HTML index to your meetings.

Make New Meeting
From the Main Screen Select Meeting|Make New Meeting.

A New Meeting Template will be displayed.  The following settings are available:

Meeting Name
This will be used to identify the meeting in the Title of bbkRC and will be printed on every printout.

Meeting Venue
This will appear on prints.

Meeting Date
This will appear on prints.  The button next to this control can be used to set today’s date according to the Short Date Format set in your PC.  When making a new meeting this is set to the current date.

Track
This can only be changed if you have the Multiple Tracks option.  It determines the Lap Parameters used for Race Timing so you can have different minimum, maximum and last lap settings for different tracks.

Race Time Format
Controls the formatting of Race Results Times.  You can either set it to Seconds or Hours, Minutes and Seconds.

Race Clock Format
Controls the formatting of the Race Clock in Races and Open Practice.  You can either set it to Seconds or Hours, Minutes and Seconds.

Count Down Race Clock
When a race is running you can see either the elapsed time (Count Up) of the race or the time left (Count Down) in the race.

Autocount
If you have Autocount Support you can set the type of Autocount equipment, either AMB20 or AMBrc.  If you have AMBrc connected to a USB 2.0 port you should set this to AMBrcUSB.  When making a new meeting, this is always set to the Autocount Device from the previous meeting.

Settings for Practice, Heats, Mixed Races and Finals

Number of Rounds
This controls the number of rounds that are scheduled.  You can change this setting during a meeting.  For example, if you decide to run 4 rounds of heats and start the heats, then decide to only run 3 rounds, you can set this back to 3.  There will always be one round of Finals.  If you have multi leg finals, this is controlled in Race Classes.

Start Time
This is not used in this version of bbkRC.  In the future it will be used for Meeting Timetable planning.

Interval Between Rounds
Set this to a number of hours, minutes and seconds to add to the normal Inter race delay to set a delay between rounds.  This is useful at smaller meetings to allow drivers to prepare cars but leave bbkRC in automatic mode.  During the inter round interval, bbkRC will give periodic countdown announcements if Speech Output is selected.

First Heat Advance
If you want to vary the first Heat or Practice race in successive rounds set this to the number of Heats or Practice races you want to advance by each round.  This option is usually only used at International Meetings.

Results Prints
Set for the number of Race Results to be automatically printed at the end of each race.

List Prints
Set to the number of copies of List Prints required

Grid List Prints
Set to the number of Grid summaries required at end of round.

EOR List Prints
Set to the number of End of Round qualifying prints required.

This can be used to set all the number of prints to the value in the dropdown control to the left of this button.  If you do not have a printer available, you can set the number of prints to zero.

Printer Selection
The default printer used is the Windows Default Printer.  You can reset this within bbkRC by clicking the left mouse button over the Green Printer Status information at the bottom of the Main Screen.  Next time you start bbkRC the printer will revert to the current Windows Default Printer.

Save Meeting

You make changes to the Meeting Settings, use either button to Save the changes.  You can use the F10 key to save changes.

Cacel Changes to Meeting

If you want to cancel any changes you make, press either button.  You can use the Esc key to cancel changes.

Accept Meeting

If you do not make any changes to the Meeting you can press the OK button to return to the main screen.  You can use the Enter key to do this.

Making changes to a Meeting
You can make changes to the meeting settings during a meeting.  You cannot do this while the Race Screen or Open Practice Screens are active.  You can close either of these screens by pressing the

  *  button in the Toolbar.

Managing Meetings
If you make a new meeting for each meeting you run, you may experience a gradual slowing down of your computer as the data tables start to grow.  If this happens you can move the meeting data out of the “live” tables into an archive area.  When a meeting is archived, you can still view the meeting data but you cannot run any more races in that meeting until the meeting is moved back to the “live” area.  Once a meeting has been run, it is advisable to Archive it.  You can still view results of the meeting when it is archived.

When you press this button, the meeting is archived.  The Meeting Summary in the main Screen is displayed in yellow and [Archived] is appended to the Meeting name.  You can make the meeting live again by pressing.

The only reason to make a meeting live would be if you wanted to run more races in that meeting.

Prepare for New Meeting
If you want to re-use a meeting then you need to prepare for new meeting.  You can selectively remove sections of the meeting.  If you remove Competitors, then all races are also removed.  Use this option with care as once you commit by pressing OK the removed data cannot be recovered.  If you are running bbkRC Pro Plus or DRIVERS and have enabled Practice Manager, you will get the first Checkbox to Remove Practice Competitors and their Sessions.

Delete this meeting
You can delete a meeting, but first you must remove all competitors using the Prepare for New Meeting Button.
