Keyboard Shortcuts & Themes

Throughout bbkRC there are Keyboard Shortcuts and themes in the way you can use the program that will make learning bbkRC easy and operation of bbkRC efficient.

Saving Changes to Entries
When you change some item of data relating to, for example a Driver, there are a number of controls to Save that change.  There is a Save Button , a Save Toolbar Button  or you can press the F10 function key.

Cancelling Changes to Entries
When you change some item of data relating to, for example a Driver,  there are a number of controls to Cancel that change.  There is a Cancel Button , a Cancel Toolbar Button  or you can press the Esc key.

Deleting Selected Items
When at item is selected, you can Delete it by “clicking” it with the left mouse button and then pressing the Delete Toolbar Button .  If you want to delete a number of items you can select the group and then press the right mouse button to get a Pop up Menu (Shown on right), which will include a Delete Function.

Making a New Item
To make a new Item, such as a Driver, you can press the  button in the Toolbar, press the  or press Ctrl-N.  To speed up repetitive entry, such as booking Competitors into a Meeting, you can check the  Checkbox.  When this is checked, every time you Save a Competitor, a new Competitor is created, ready for you to enter details.

Selecting Groups of Items

When you view a collection of items, such as Drivers or Competitors it is often useful to be able to group them, sort them and filter them. The Driver & Cars, Competitors and Transponders collections all have this facility.

Filter
The Filter control will restrict the Items displayed to those that in some way match the contents of the Filter box.  This is a very quick way of finding a particular item.  When the filter is in effect, the Filter control has a red background.  To remove the filter, delete the characters in the Filter control or press the Delete key while the cursor is active in the Filter control.  The filter below is causing only Drivers with “joh” as part of their name to be displayed.  You can also filter on the identification number, which can be Club, National or BRCA Number.

Group By

When you select a Group By, the items are divided into groups by those criteria.  You can view the whole collection and also the collections with the different settings for that criteria by selecting the appropriate tab.

Sort By
You can sort the displayed order of items by selecting an entry in the Sort By Dropdown.

Display
You can select the Display type by selecting an entry in the Display Dropdown.

Number of Items in a collection
The number of items in a collection, together with the number selected is displayed in the bottom left of the collection screen.

Selecting Columns for Display
When information is displayed in columns, not all the columns need to be displayed.  You can turn columns on and off. To select a  Column for viewing right mouse click on the column headers and a Pop Up menu will appear with ticks against the columns that are displayed.  To view a Hidden column, click next it in this menu and to hide a column click it in the menu.  You can also hide a column by double left clicking its column header.  There are some columns that should always be viewed and these columns cannot be hidden.

• F6 Get next available Club Number

• Ctrl + F6 Get next available Temporary Club Number

• F10 Save Driver/Car Details

• Esc Cancel

Ctrl + C Edit/View Competitors

• Ctrl + N Make New Competitor

• Ctrl + D Make New Driver

• F10 Save Competitor Details.  If Speed Entry is checked, automatically makes next Competitor

• Esc Cancel

Ctrl + P Load Open Practice

• F7 Start Open Practice Session

• Alt + F8 Stop Practice Session

• Ctrl + X Close Practice Session

Ctrl + W Web Publish

Run Races

• F7 Start Race Practice Session

• Alt + F8 Stop Race Session.  If the race is running there is a confirmation dialog.  If the Race is starting, it will be stopped without confirmation.

• Ctrl + X Close Race Session
