Entering
Competitors into a Meeting
To
enter a Competitor into a Race or Meeting, you must select a Driver, a Car
and a Race Class. You cannot enter a Driver more than once into a
particular Race Class.
Minimum
Requirements for Selecting a Competitor
Selecting
a Driver
To
select a driver you can enter part of their name or Club ID.
As you enter
characters, a dropdown list will appear of all the Drivers that have
names or Club Ids that match your typing. You can select an entry
from the Drop Down list using the Mouse or by typing Tab, or locating the
Driver using the Up/Down arrow keys and pressing Enter when the required
Driver is selected. If you keep typing characters until only
one driver matches, that Driver will automatically be selected. With
practice you will be able to locate an individual Driver with only a few key
strokes.
If
the required Driver is not listed on the Driver Database,
press the
key
to make a new Driver and Car.
Selecting
a Car
If the Driver has more than 1 car,
you can select the required car using the Drop Down. You can make new Cars
for Drivers
or
Delete Cars
. You can
also press Ctrl-C to make a new Car.
Selecting
a Race Class
Use the drop down to select a Race
Class for the Competitor. If you are entering several Competitors into a
Meeting, this entry is saved between successive Competitors, so once set
you don’t need to re select this each time. If you are adding a
Competitor to a Race, the Race Class is set to match the Race’s Race
Class.

entry status. This is useful when entering Competitors prior to Race Day.
When you Make Races, you can select which Competitors are entered based on
their Entry Status. If a Competitor leaves prior to Finals, you can mark
them as Withdrawn. Their Heat results are preserved but they are not
allocated to a final.

who has paid their entry fee.

change these if you wish. When you save the Competitor entry, you will be
asked if you want these changes saving back to the Driver Database.

selected..

automatically set this ability based on driver performance. Blank is a
lower ability than 1. Ability can be used to sort Competitors into Races.

your system it may well be in the Database. If so type part of the number
or nickname and it will appear in the dropdown. You can then select it.
If
not you can make a new entry for that transponder by pressing the
Button. This will show the
New Transponder Form. Enter the Transponder Number and Save. If after you
have entered the 7 digit transponder number, number box remains red, that
transponder was already in the system. Press Cancel and enter the

Saving

you Save a Competitor, if anything has been changed you are invited to
save that change back to the Driver and/or Car Entry. Some changes may be
for this meeting only and so do not need to saved for future use.
Automatically
sorting Competitors into Races
Make Races
You
can sort the Competitors into Races using the Make Races button. You can
choose to assign them to Races based on Ability, Formula and Roof Colour
or you can assign them based on their qualifying order in previous races.
For Instance you can sort Competitors into Practice Races based on
ability, run one or more rounds of Practice then sort them into heats
based on their Practice results. When assigning Competitors into races by
ability you can set the crystal allocation to avoid the same crystal being
used in consecutive Races. Note that there is no check between the first
and last Race. You may also find that there are Competitors in the last
Race that have no available crystals.
When
using ability based sorting, if Ability and Formula are chosen, Formula
takes precedence over Ability. An F2 Competitor of Ability 5 is considered
higher ability than an F3 Competitor of Ability 9. If you just want
Ability based sorting, don’t check Formula.
Eligible
Drivers
When Competitors are allocated to Races using Make
Races only Confirmed entries are automatically allocated. You can specify
that Provisional, Reserve and Withdrawn Drivers are also
included.
Copy
Exactly from……..
If
you run a meeting with Timed Practice you may decide to run the Heats with
the same drivers as Practice. During Practice you may well make changes to
Competitor details. Once Practice is over you can make the Heats from the
Practice races. It may also be the case that you have prepared Heats
before a meeting and decide on the day to run some Timed Practice. You can
make the Practice Races from the Heats you have set up.
When
you make the Races, if there are already Races of that type you will be
warned that you are about to overwrite them and you will have the
opportunity to cancel.
